First Nation Chief Ken Brown endorsed the BC Liberals as the only choice on May
12.
Premier Gordon Campbell visited the North Island riding of
candidate Marion Wright. The Premier laid out the vision to protect jobs and
create opportunities.

Toba Montrose General Partnership (TMGP), a joint venture company, is constructing and will operate the 196 megawatt East Toba River Montrose Creek hydroelectric project north of Powell River. Operations will commence in 2010.
TMGP is seeking operations staff to join our team. You will initially work on the construction/inspection and commissioning phases of the project, and move into operations and maintenance at East Toba and Montrose. An emphasis will be placed on hiring qualified local residents and First Nations partners.
The Camp Liaison formally represents Klahoose First Nation interests at the Toba/Montrose work site and will be responsible for creating and maintaining effective working relationships. The liaison is the vital link between our staff and Chief and Council, PRESS representatives, QXMC, and Kiewit and Sons.

Description: The Klahoose traditional territory encompasses Desolation Sound and islands in the northern Straits of Georgia as well as Toba Inlet and adjacent watersheds as shown on the Traditional Territory map.
The Klahoose speak a dialect of the Coast Salish Branch of the Salishan language family.
We are closely related to the Sliammon people near Powell River, and the Homalco, living in Campbell River.
The Klahoose First Nation traditional territory covers an area of aproximately 430,500 hectares or 4305 sg. km.
